Woman’s Sport, or How to Train with Pleasure

I don't know anyone who hasn’t heard of the benefit of sports. Fashion magazines, bloggers, spiritual teachers – all of them tell that our body needs training.

You probably won’t be surprised if I tell that garden works are not a sport. Cleaning with acrobatic elements is not a sport either, and running after a bus is not jogging. On the other hand, a 1-2-hour training till exhaustion and throbbing temples is a sport. But will you gain any benefit of it? - It remains a question. Besides, if you are not a professional sportsman you hardly need training on maximum 7 days a week.

So, why, how and when to train?

Our body is designed for movement. Everybody has heard a phrase “Movement is life”. But it is not about sports. It is rather about a body’s need to move.

Woman’s body, firstly, should be flexible. It is designed in such a way by nature itself, and nature, trust me, knows what it does. So, exhausting exercises for the muscle tissue growth are not so useful for the beautiful part of humanity. At the same time, stretching should be prescribed to all women.

One more important condition of the effective training for women is a pleasant feeling of fatigue. And the keyword here is “pleasant”.

This is where the endless possibilities open for you. Ask yourself, feel what your body responds to – and choose that type of sports which will give you pleasure.

Fortunately, the choice is diverse today. Fitness, gymnastics, jogging, pilates, all kinds of yoga, kangoo jumping, stretching, step aerobics. And this is only a beginning of what the body industry suggests.

Today I suggest you to change your focus from “I do sports” to “I do my body”. It seems to be the same, but feels differently.

A woman has to take care of her body to feel well, look good and be in contact with herself. Note, it is not to fight overweight, squeeze into another fashionable dress or be like that long-legged model.

A woman’s body is soft and delicate, but it is rather enduring. If you are in contact with your body, you will easily feel what you need. Sometimes you wake up in the morning and instead of the usual yoga you want to go jogging. Or vice versa – after long months of strength training you want some unhasting stretching.

The whole point is that there is no universal type of training satisfactory for all women. We all have different forms, temperaments, speed and rigidity, smoothness and fortitude. So, our body firstly wants to fulfill its own needs. Because it knows best what it needs now, so that you could complete a project, prepare for an important event, get a resource or blow off steam. So, don’t disturb it and just listen to it.

And now about the most important! It is regularity.

It’s impossible to be fit, flexible, beautiful, if you take care of your body from time to time or only when you require from it to look particularly good.

According to the researches, even 20-30 minutes of daily exercises will be useful if you do them regularly. But a once-a-week or once-a-month deed will exhaust your body which will finally start to resist. Instead of motivation you will get procrastination and laziness.

Taking good care of your body means:

  1. Give yourself feasible physical activity whuch will mildly train your body and give you pleasure.
  2. Listen to your body when choosing a type of training and its duration. Nothing should hurt. Pain is a signal that you should stop and figure out a reason of an unpleasant state.
  3. Understand that physical activity is a need of our body, but not a slimming pill or a pill for “fashionable” forms modeling.
  4. If you are bored during a training session you should surprise your body. Go to an unusual training: passionate dance class or static yoga, acrobatics or pilon. By the way, a massage is also a good variant.
  5. The hardest step is to put on your sports form, spread the mat or come to a fitness-center. If you make it, the rest will go like clockwork.
  6. Fulfill your need in health, state of lightness and femininity.
  7. Be responsible for what you look like at your 30, 40, 50...

I believe I have managed to convince you that sports is fun and vitally necessary.

But remember, a woman has to do everything with pleasure. Even sports!
